Privacy Policy
Last updated October 2026. This policy covers this website, with a short summary of how the ScriptOnX desktop beta handles your code.
Draft, pending legal review. This text describes how the website currently works. It will be replaced by a reviewed policy before ScriptOnX is generally available.
What this website collects
This website does not require an account and does not use advertising trackers. The only personal information we receive is what you choose to send us:
- Through the contact form: your name, email address, optional institution and your message.
- Through the demo request form: your name, institution, designation and official email address, and optionally your phone number, the number of students and a message, along with the area you're most interested in.
How we use it
We use these details only to respond to your enquiry, arrange a demo if you asked for one, and understand institutional interest in ScriptOnX. We do not sell your information. Submissions are delivered to the ScriptOnX team's inbox.
Interactive demos
The demonstrations on this site run in your browser using pre-written examples. Code shown in them is not sent to a compiler or an AI service, and nothing you click in them is stored on our servers.
Analytics
This website does not currently use an analytics service. The site names a small set of interactions (for example, a click on "Request a Demo") inside your browser, but those events are not sent anywhere. If we add an analytics service, we will update this policy first.
Cookies and storage
This website does not set cookies for tracking. Hosting infrastructure may keep standard server logs, such as IP address and requested page, for security and reliability.
The ScriptOnX desktop beta
In the desktop app, your programs run on your own computer, and your activity reports are stored on your computer. AI features are off until you switch on an AI provider in Settings and give consent. When you then ask for help, the following is sent to that provider to generate a response, under that provider's terms:
- For explanations and follow-up questions: your question, the error output, the file's name and language, and the lines of code around your cursor (the whole file if you switch on "Send full file context").
- For AI actions such as Fix Error, Dry Run, Improve Readability and Generate Test Cases: the full contents of the open file and its location on your computer (the file path, which can include your computer's user name), together with the error output or your request. This happens whatever the "Send full file context" setting says.
- For help in Database Lab: your query and the database error.
Anything written in that code, including passwords or API keys, is sent as written. It is not removed first. Common errors can be explained by built-in rules without sending anything. A full privacy notice for the app will be published before general availability.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the information you sent us at any time by contacting us through the contact page.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
